Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 17, 2026
This policy explains what information Quyps ("Quyps," "we") collects when you use quyps.com and our apps (the "Service"), why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
The short version
- We collect what you give us (your account, posts, lives and messages) and some technical data needed to run and protect the site.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell sensitive data.
- We share data with companies that help us run Quyps (hosting, security, email) and otherwise only as described below.
- Lives are recorded by default and posted as replays. Hosts can switch recording off before going live, and you can delete what you post.
- We never use GPS for "porch lights". A town is only shown when 3 or more viewers pick it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: username, name, email address, password (stored scrambled, never in plain text), date of birth, gender if you choose, profile photo, cover and other profile details you add.
- Your content: posts, comments, reactions, photos, videos, stories, reels, articles, forum posts, groups, pages, events, jobs, offers, Market listings and anything else you upload. Photos and videos can contain information about where and when they were taken.
- Lives: the video and audio of lives you host or co-host, the live chat, gift names, comments a host puts on screen, and the replay and any clips made from it.
- Messages you send to other members. They are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and are not end-to-end encrypted. We don't read them except to keep the Service safe (for example, after a report, an automated spam check, or a legal requirement).
- Porch-light town pick (optional): the town you choose from a list while watching a live.
- Purchases: your coin, Pro and ad purchases, and your wallet, coin, gift and credit history. Card numbers are handled by the payment company you pay through; we receive only limited details such as the payment status.
- Messages to us: support emails, reports and appeals.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, dates and times, the page you came from, and error logs.
- Approximate location from your IP address (such as city or region), used for security, preventing fraud and showing local content. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Cookies and similar storage (see Section 6).
Information from others
- Other members may mention or tag you, put your comment on screen in a live, or include you in their content.
- Link previews: when you post a link, our servers fetch public information from that page. The linked site sees our server, not you.
Activity on business posts. When you view a post for about a second, we record that you saw it (once per day), so the business can see how many people saw its posts. When you tap a business's Call, Directions or Message button, we record the tap and its time. When you scan a Quyps shop-window QR code, we count the scan using a one-way code made from your connection details for that day; we don't keep your IP address for this. When a business connects a product feed, store or website, we copy the listings it chooses to share.
2. How we use information
- To run the Service: create your account, show your content to the audience you choose, deliver messages and notifications, run lives, record and post replays, make clips a host asks for, and handle coins, gifts, the 60-second undo, store credit, Pro and ads.
- To verify and protect: confirm your email, check age for 16+ and 18+ features, block bots, detect fraud, spam and abuse, enforce our Terms, and keep the Service secure.
- To show relevant content: posts, lives, groups, events and listings you may find useful, including local ones.
- To contact you: account emails (confirmation, security alerts, receipts), notifications you turned on, and, if you allow it, news and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- Ads: show ads on Quyps, including ads from Ketroc ADS, and count whether ads are shown and clicked.
- Safety checks: automatic tools check pictures and videos, including those sent in messages, and the words of posts, comments and some messages, for content that breaks our Community Rules (see Section 10A of our Terms). Flagged items may be blurred or held for a person to review. We never use face recognition.
- To improve Quyps and fix problems.
- To meet legal duties: keep records, answer lawful requests, and protect people's rights and safety.
3. What other members can see
- Public by default: your username, name, profile photo and anything you post publicly, including replays of your public lives and their chat.
- Lives: viewers see the host's and co-hosts' video and audio, the chat (usernames and comments) and gifts sent. This also appears in the replay.
- Porch lights: town counts are only shown when at least 3 viewers picked the same town, and your pick is not shown next to your name.
- You can change many visibility settings in Settings > Privacy.
What businesses can see. Businesses see counts (how many people saw their posts or tapped a button), the towns viewers chose to share, and the names of people who messaged them. They do not see who viewed a post or who tapped a button, unless that person also messaged them.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information and we never sell sensitive data. We share information only as follows.
Companies that help us run Quyps, which may use the data only to provide their service to us:
- OVHcloud hosts our servers, so it holds the data stored on Quyps.
- Cloudflare delivers the site, protects it from attacks and runs bot checks. It receives your IP address, device and request data.
- MailerSend sends our emails, and Mailgun receives email sent to our addresses. They handle email addresses, names and email content.
- Google supplies website fonts and the address suggestions in location boxes (Google Maps). It receives your IP address and browser details, and what you type into a location box.
- OpenStreetMap supplies the map pictures on Nearby pages. It receives your IP address when the map loads.
- GIPHY powers GIF search. It receives the words you search for and your IP address.
- Browser push services (such as Google, Apple, Mozilla and Microsoft) deliver notifications you turn on. The notification content is encrypted on the way.
- OneSignal delivers notifications to the Quyps Android app when you allow them. It receives your phone's notification ID and the notification content (such as who reacted, or the text of a new message).
- Stripe processes payments, business plans and card holds for ads. You enter card details on Stripe's page; we receive only the result and a reference.
- Anthropic (Claude) powers the writing helper, the ad check and the Business Studio Assistant. It receives the text you ask it to work on and, for the Assistant, the business's own post texts and statistics.
- Replicate runs AI picture and video models (including Google Veo and Black Forest Labs models). It receives the prompt and, for AI video, the photo being animated.
- OpenAI runs our automatic safety checks (pictures, still frames from videos, and text) and can power some writing tools. It receives the item being checked. OpenAI says it does not use this data to train its models and keeps it only for a limited time for abuse monitoring.
- Google Cloud Vision checks newly uploaded photos for adult content. It receives the photo.
- fal.ai runs AI video models for the AI Video Studio. It receives the prompt and any photo being animated.
- Bunny.net stores copies of uploaded videos and delivers them quickly. It receives the video files and the IP address of the device playing them.
- NHTSA (the U.S. government's vehicle database) fills in vehicle details for imported cars. It receives only the vehicle's VIN.
Our live-streaming system runs on our own servers.
Advertising. Ads on Quyps may be served by Ketroc ADS, an ad network owned by the same owner as Quyps, and possibly other ad partners. They may receive the page viewed, your IP address and approximate location, device type, and whether an ad was shown or clicked, and may use cookies or similar technology to count views and clicks and prevent fraud. We do not give advertisers your name, email or messages.
Other members and the public: as described in Section 3.
Legal and safety: when the law or valid legal process requires it, to report child sexual exploitation to NCMEC, to prevent death or serious harm, to investigate fraud or security problems, or to enforce our Terms.
Business changes: if Quyps is part of a merger, sale or reorganization, information may move to the new owner, who must follow this policy or tell you about changes.
With your permission: whenever you ask us to share it.
Videos, GIFs and games from other services
The official Quyps Picks page shares videos from YouTube and GIFs from GIPHY, and the Games page may offer games from GameMonetize. When you play one of these, it loads from that company's servers, which may set their own cookies and show their own ads under their own privacy policies. Quyps uses the YouTube API Services: by watching YouTube videos on Quyps you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and how Google uses data is explained in the Google Privacy Policy. Quyps does not give YouTube, GIPHY or GameMonetize your Quyps account details. GIPHY's policy is at giphy.com/privacy.
5. Recordings of lives
Lives are recorded by default so they can be posted as replays with the chat and gift names. Hosts can switch recording off before going live, and can delete replays and clips at any time. Co-hosts and viewers who want a clip or featured comment removed can ask the host, or email [email protected].
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to:
- keep you logged in and protect your session (required);
- remember your choices, such as language or display settings;
- protect the site, for example Cloudflare security and bot-check cookies (required); and
- show and count ads, where ad partners set them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but logging in won't work without the required cookies.
7. How long we keep information
- Account and content: while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account and content. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time until they are replaced.
- Replays and clips: until the host deletes them or the account is deleted.
- Messages: until deleted or the account is deleted. A message you sent may remain in the other person's inbox.
- Post views and button taps: 13 months, then deleted.
- QR scan codes: 30 days; daily totals are kept.
- Card holds for pay-for-results ads end within 7 days; the charge record is kept like other purchase records.
- Purchase, wallet and gift records: as long as tax, accounting and fraud-prevention rules require.
- Security logs and reports of rule-breaking: as long as needed to protect the Service and handle appeals and legal claims.
- Information we must keep longer for legal reasons, such as a legal hold, is kept as required.
8. Your choices and rights
- See and download your information: Settings > My Information. You can edit most profile details in Settings.
- Delete: delete posts, replays and clips at any time, or your whole account in Settings > Delete Account.
- Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We will still send account and security emails.
- Notifications: turn email and push notifications on or off in Settings or your browser.
- Porch lights are optional.
- Privacy requests: email [email protected]. We will confirm it's you and respond within 45 days. We offer access and deletion to all members, wherever they live, and won't treat you differently for asking.
- Do Not Track: browsers handle these signals differently, and we don't currently respond to them.
9. Children and teens
- Quyps is not for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe someone under 16 has an account, email [email protected] and we will close it and delete its information.
- Members under 18 can't go live, co-host, send gifts or buy anything on Quyps.
- Parents or guardians may ask us to close a minor's account and delete its information by emailing [email protected].
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, email confirmation, bot protection and access controls. No system is perfectly secure.
If a data breach affects your personal information, we will tell you as the law requires. Under Florida law, that means within 30 days after we determine a breach happened (unless law enforcement asks us to wait). We will also notify the Florida Attorney General when 500 or more Floridians are affected.
Found a security problem? Email [email protected] with the subject "Security".
11. Where data is stored
Quyps's servers are run by OVHcloud in Canada, and our service providers process data where they operate, including the United States. By using Quyps you understand your information will be stored and processed in these places.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or on the Service before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
